The last two weeks have been wonderful! John took leave for these last two weeks. We used the AFVC (Armed Forces Vacation Club) to stay at a Time Share resort for a week in Orlando. Took the kids to Universal studios for a couple of days and spent the rest of the time just laying around and playing at the pool. It was one of the best weeks ever! Really really relaxing. The last week we spent just hanging out at home, going to movies and floating the rainbow river.
Currently John and I are in Orlando attending a yellow ribbon briefing for the weekend. The briefings we absolutely mind numbing but the time that we get to spend together is great!
Alothough I am really enjoying myself, I am also dreading the moment when he takes me back home tomorrow. After that, we wont see him hardly at all until he leaves later in the month.
The worst part is that he is only 2 hours away in Orlando. Close enough to visit but far enough to make it difficult to drive back and forth easily. ARG!!!!
Time just seems to be flying by! The worst part is that I don't think that the time is going to be flying by quite as much when he is finaly gone. I fully expect that time is going to come to a screeching halt once he leaves!
The good news is that John is going to be able to easily skype to us pretty much as much as he wants. He will also be able to text freely! That will help with staying connected.
Its funny to think back nearly 18 years ago when talking and staying in touch wasn't near as easy. We ran up huge phone bills just trying to stay connected. We are truly blessed in this day and age to have such technology.
I will be posting and APO address that will allow anyone to mail things to John while he is overseas. I believe that this will make the sending of packages free. Not sure about that so I will have to check on that once I get the address. I'm sure John would love to get goodies in the mail from time to time.
This is our family blog. We have created this site to try and keep all family and friends informed of whatever changes we encounter. Since we are new, there will probably be many changes in the future. Then again, we may get sick of it LOL.

Here we are!
Here's my thought
Ok, we have now officially made it into the 21st century by creating this blogging page. (Honestly a blog sounds like something that I blow out of my nose in the morning) but blog it is.
Hopfully in my "spare" time I will be able to keep this close to up to date. We are hoping to be able to put photos of the kids and all that Jazz so that our family can see just what it is we are up to here.
Hope it works!

Christian in Montana
This boy really knows how to work!
Montana bound for Christian
Christian is having a ton of fun in the great state of Montana! He left 2 weeks ago headed for Dillon Montana, to spend time on the Hansen Ranch.
At first he was a bit nervous to leave home. After all he is going to be gone for nearly 6 weeks.... And at the time of his departure, snow was rapidly falling on the Ranch and here in Boise we were enjoying 80 degree weather. (YIKES!)
After a bit of an adjustment he has found his groove! Early mornings and lots and lots of eating!
Christian has been helping out with the lambing season. Mucking stalls, playing, mucking more stalls, playing, eating, playing and so on.
Yesturday Grandpa Paul taught him how to drive a four wheeler! I'm jealous :0)
Time with Grandma has been enjoyable too... from the sounds of it he has tons of projects that he has been working on... One is "TOP SECRET" so I'll tell all after he comes home.
Can't wait to hear all about his adventures in Montana when he comes back!

Video call from Dad :0)

We sure miss seeing that smile everyday!
We miss you Dad!
Its been a really long 3 months! John left for officer school in the beginning of February.... He first went to Fort Benning Georgia, where he spent 2 very long months in training. After that was finished he surprised us here at home with a wonderful visit back in Boise! We were able to spend the weekend with him before he flew back to grab his truck and drive up to Fort Eustis Virginia.
Two weeks from now I get to fly to Washington DC to see him for a week over the Memorial Day Holiday! We are really looking forward to this. I only wish that I could take the kids with me.
John graduates his final school towards the end of June and then its home sweet home!
