Home Safe and Sound

Wow, what a trip! I feel like it was a whirlwind of going here and there, seeing all that there is to see in that area. We didn't even scratch the surface!
We have seen Yorktown, Williamsburg, the outside of Jamestown (it closed before we could make it) Virginia Beach, a few Army posts, and one Marine Post (not on purpose).
Made a million wrong turns, and almost wet my pants several times with laughter.
Perhaps my favorite day was our last, which we spent in DC. We took a hop on hop off tour bus around DC We saw the National Archives, The Smithsonian (Museum of history) (the hope diamond was in there wooooo hooooo ) Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial (very awesome!!!!! ) The White house of Course, the Department of Engraving (Loads of money there)Union Station, Thomas Jefferson Memorial. I think that was it. Whew!!! my calves hurt.
We didn't get to go see Arrlington because we ran out of time. I would have loved to see more but alas, I guess we will just have to go back.

The trip home however wasn't as fun :0) Woke up at 3:45 DC time, cab arrived at 4:50 and was off to catch the 8:00 flight out of DC. My Aunt stayed for a wedding up in Pennsylvania, so I was on my own. Made the flight to Seattle fine and arrived in Seattle 5 hours later at 10:00am Pacific time. Tried to get on the 11:00 flight (got bumped) tried the 1:00 (got bumped) Had a sure fire plan to catch the flight into Lewiston and then on to Boise at 2:30....... I got on!!!! yea.... oh wait..... Landed in Lewiston with mechanical problems so had to unload the plane. Didn't look like I was going to make it out of there. But thanks to a mechanic that was flown in from Boise we made it to Boise at 9:30pm Mountain time. WHAT A LONG DAY!!!!! It was wonderful to see the kids... Man I missed them... Tomorrow we get to go and get Christian from Montana YEA!!!!

I wanted to say thanks to my Aunt Sue.... She is just about the funnest Aunt out there and she was able to fly me there on a buddy pass. If I had to take anyone with me for a fun trip besides John of course I would pick her. She was a hoot... full of fun and laughter. I'll miss ya this week.

John comes home in Four weeks... The countdown begins! Can't wait to have him home. We are planning on lots of camping and fun with the kids this summer to make up for all the lost time.

Here's my thought

Ok, we have now officially made it into the 21st century by creating this blogging page. (Honestly a blog sounds like something that I blow out of my nose in the morning) but blog it is.

Hopfully in my "spare" time I will be able to keep this close to up to date. We are hoping to be able to put photos of the kids and all that Jazz so that our family can see just what it is we are up to here.

Hope it works!

Montana bound for Christian

Christian is having a ton of fun in the great state of Montana! He left 2 weeks ago headed for Dillon Montana, to spend time on the Hansen Ranch.
At first he was a bit nervous to leave home. After all he is going to be gone for nearly 6 weeks.... And at the time of his departure, snow was rapidly falling on the Ranch and here in Boise we were enjoying 80 degree weather. (YIKES!)

After a bit of an adjustment he has found his groove! Early mornings and lots and lots of eating!
Christian has been helping out with the lambing season. Mucking stalls, playing, mucking more stalls, playing, eating, playing and so on.

Yesturday Grandpa Paul taught him how to drive a four wheeler! I'm jealous :0)

Time with Grandma has been enjoyable too... from the sounds of it he has tons of projects that he has been working on... One is "TOP SECRET" so I'll tell all after he comes home.

Can't wait to hear all about his adventures in Montana when he comes back!

We sure miss seeing that smile everyday!

We miss you Dad!

Its been a really long 3 months! John left for officer school in the beginning of February.... He first went to Fort Benning Georgia, where he spent 2 very long months in training. After that was finished he surprised us here at home with a wonderful visit back in Boise! We were able to spend the weekend with him before he flew back to grab his truck and drive up to Fort Eustis Virginia.

Two weeks from now I get to fly to Washington DC to see him for a week over the Memorial Day Holiday! We are really looking forward to this. I only wish that I could take the kids with me.

John graduates his final school towards the end of June and then its home sweet home!
